The fishing village of Ormos Marathokampos is found on the south -western side of Samos island at the foot of Mount Kerkis, with colourful fishing boats moored along a waterfront dotted with tavernas and cafes.

This working fishing village has a handful of apartments, one hotel, two mini markets, two bakeries and a few souvenir shops.

Further along from the harbour is the small sand/shingle village beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. The start of the long stretch of sandy / shingle beach at Kambos is just 10-15 minute walk away from Ormos.

There are regular boat trips leave from the harbour to the nearby island of Samiopoula with it's wonderful sandy beach.

Should you wish to go further afield, excursions can be arranged from Ormos - including trips to the holy island of Patmos and the ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey.

A somewhat infrequent bus service can take you to Pythagorion and Samos Town. It is recommended to hire a car for at least part of your stay so that you can fully explore the whole island.
