Karlovassi

Karlovassi situated on the northwestwern side of the island and surrounded by lush vegetation, is the second largest town and harbour on the island. Although it could equally be described as five towns in one as it is split into: the port, the old, middle and new area and the bay.


There are a number of large and richly decorated churches and mansions dating from a time when the town was commercially prosperous and the industrial capital of the island.

The nearby beach of Potami and the Potami river gorge with it's waterfall's is located to the west of Karlovassi.
