Ios, with it’s traditional accommodation built in a 'sugar cube' style is just a short boat connection from Santorini and an ideal island for those seeking a relaxing beach holiday. 

During the months of July and August  Ios is known as the 'party island and the village of Chora with it's lively bars and tavernas is particularly bustling and vibrant. Although away from Chora, the island has many beautiful and peaceful spots, as well as hundreds of chapels.

During the day the island retains its age old tradition of drinking coffee and playing backgammon in the shade. By night you can stroll through the market stalls, have an evening cocktail in the square and a meal in one of the waterfront restaurants.

The island can boast 75 kilometres of fine golden sandy beaches and crystalline emerald waters. Many of the beaches are untouched by tourism, with some only accessible by boat.  It also has one of the “Top 10 beaches in Europe”.

Alternatively, If you are looking for something slightly more energetic there are a number of walks along which, you will find ancient ruins and the reputed site of Homer's tomb.

There are three main villages on the island and only a handful of other settlements located near the major beaches of: Theodoti, Kalamos and Maganari.
