Crete’s original hotel and still the most elegant, Minos Beach occupies a prime location in its own spacious grounds on a small headland just half a mile from the centre of Agios Nikolaos, with a choice of two small sandy beaches.  Its splendid hibiscus gardens are the setting for a permanent open-air art exhibition. 

The 129 stylishly appointed bungalows meet the highest standards of luxury.  Some have terraces looking out onto the bougainvillea and hibiscus scented gardens; the VIP bungalows and suites are close to the water’s edge. Four restaurants, two of them internationally-recognised, are set by the water or amidst the gardens, offering a wide selection of fine cuisine.    Once a week the hotel hosts a Cretan night, with traditional music and dancing.

There is a regular bus service from the hotel entrance to Agios Nikolaos and Elounda; Agios Nikolaos is within walking distance.

Standard rooms: bedroom, bathroom with Jacuzzi shower cabin, dressing corner and large veranda.  Sea view rooms (main building): twin bedroom plus sofa bed, bathroom with bath tub, balcony.  Seafront bungalow: bedroom, bathroom with bathtub or Jacuzzi shower cabin, dressing corner, veranda.  Junior suite: open-plan bedroom and living room, dressing area, bathroom, veranda or balcony. Waterfront bungalow: direct access to sea.  Bedroom, bathroom with Jacuzzi shower cabin with steam, dressing corner, large veranda.  VIP bungalow: as above, plus living room, some with direct access to sea, others on first row back from sea.  Executive suites have extra twin bedroom, two bathrooms with Jacuzzi cabin, one with steam, living room and dining area plus private pool.  All accommodation has air conditioning, mini-bar, radio, satellite TV, safe, telephone and hairdryer. VIP bungalows and suites additionally have mini hi-fi CD system, video and personal fax.  Suites also have TV in all rooms, midi hi-fi system and DVD.

Category deluxe.  Salt water swimming pool (heated in cooler months), poolside bar, lounge bar, gym, tennis court, beauty centre, massage, sauna, hairdressing salon, lounges, gift shop, currency exchange and four restaurants.  Water sports and scuba diving available from beach (chargeable locally).
