Aghios Stefanos (North East) and Kassiopi
Popular for villas, the pretty little harbour village of Aghios Stephanos is situated in the shelter of hills that sweep down to the azure blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The village's thriving local community welcomes visitors with the warmth and hospitality that Greece is famous for.
During the evenings the village with its' farily subdued nightlife is especially suitable for those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday although it is suitable for families during the school holidays when during the day there are plenty of boats coming in and out of the small harbour.
There is a small shingle beach stretching along one side of the bay.
There are also two good supermarkets in the village on the harbourside with further choice in the village of Sinies.
Further around the headland is the busier village of Kassiopi.
Although the village of Kassiopi is reasonably compact it lacks nothing when it comes to charm and hospitality. By day the village is quiet and sleepy but by night it comes alive with its own unique atmosphere.
The square is the heart of Kassiopi and life revolves around it. Many picturesque lances around the village add to the already natural beauty of the place.
The village has the magnificent backdrop of Mount Panokrantor and hills covered with olive groves, vines and citrus plantations and is just 22 miles north of Corfu Town and the airport. There are views out to sea and over the Albanian coastline.
Despite being an established resort, Kassiopi still retains something of its fishing village past – with fisherman still working daily from the habour alongside the more modern yachts and cruisers.
